Welcome to the Research Training Program Virtual Poster Pages!

NMNH RotundaLaunched for the first time in 2002, the virtual posters provide a glimpse into the research activities of the students and teachers participating in the Research Training Program.

At the conclusion of the ten-weeks, participants in the Research Training Program communicate their research findings by giving a 15-minute formal presentation on the progress of their research to an audience of approximately 40 members from the Smithsonian scientific community. Students also produce a research poster that is presented through a variety of formats.

To share information as broadly as possible, including colleagues at distant locations, a Virtual Poster Session is held each year, utilizing the web as a forum, to facilitate communication between students and colleagues around the world.

Posters are available for viewing at the beginning of the last week the program is in session.

Browse through the descriptives as your leisure by clicking on the poster thumbnails. To learn more about the students, select the "summary" option. To review a general audience abstract of the research project and view a photo of the research team, select the "abstract" option.
