Despite
cloudy conditions and the threat of rain,
the field trip to Scientist Cliffs was
a success with almost all students participating,
including: Matthew Oreska, Jorge Alvarez,
Maya Strahl, Nick Rassmausen, Juan Adres
Martinez, Alisa O'Connor, Sara Marsteller,
Malcolm Collins, Katie Faust, Caleb McMahan,
Emily Armguardt, Kim Vann, Sylvia Moses,
Julia Brown, and Erin Saupe.

Field

orientation to the paleontology of the
cliffs including the taphonomy of the
fossils, sea levels through time, and
taxa available to find.

To
get eyes trained, the Marine Museum in
the basement of the Chestnut Cabin has
nice displays of the different fossils
found at the site. Although more likely
to find small shark teeth, all students
seemt to hope for the big ones like displayed
in this case.
