A Systematic Study of the Genus Rhysophora Cresson (Diptera: Ephydridae)

The New World genus Rhysophora Cresson, now placed in the tribe Discomyzini (Subfamily Discomyzinae), is revised. Four species, including R. griseola (type locality: Costa Rica, Guanacaste: Colorado), which were undescribed, are included. The phylogenetic relationships of the species of Rhysophora are reanalyzed, and the brief comments are provided on the relationships of the genus in the tribe. A generic key for the tribe is included.
