Plant Conservation in Latin America and the Endangered Cacti of Mexico

First, data on the Cactaceae family, including geographical distribution and conservation status, was added to the list of Rare and Threatened Species. All of this was accomplished through an exhaustive bibliography search and from notes and experience with this family.

Work was also done on the Plant Diversity project. Four maps of sites in Mexico were drawn and will be included in the publication of this paper.

This research was supported by a grant from the James Smithson Society.
