Food Habits of Scolomys melanops

This project involved studying the food habits of Scolomys melanops. To do this, skins, skulls, and two alcohol specimens were examined. Research was conducted on fungii, diatoms, bryophytes, food habits of rodents, algae and dipteran larvae. The Entomology and Botany departments, the fungal lab at Beltsville, and Vertebrate Zoology all provided assistance.

This research was supported by a grant from the James Smithson Society.
