Paleobotanical Studies in Illinois
The month at the Smithsonian was spent experiencing a variety of aspects
of the studies conducted within Paleobotany. A great deal of background
reading was completed in order to understand what and why certain
tasks were necessary to perform. Coal ball peels were made in the
morning and afternoons of the West Mineral, KS cool area. The process
of spore maceration was also observed and general species identification
in different localities was learned. |
