"As far as exposing someone to a variety of scientific disciplines, the program is wonderful. Certainly the best experience of my undergrad years."

The bulk of this project involved the artwork database. Drawings were first archivally conserved, and then information about the illustration was entered into the database and filed into folders. The entire set of Mary Eaton's watercolors was archived for the family Cactaceae and the grasses and bamboo illustrations were completed. Finally, a set of Lichen drawings (done for Mason Hale) was compiled. The total number of archived/entered drawings was about 400, but the most important set was the Mary Eaton watercolors.

This research was supported by a grant from the Educational Outreach Fund.
