Marine Algae Studies & Curation

This project revolved around a particular genus of algae, Penicillus. It was necessary to press some algae brought back from Belize and then gather all the specimens of Penicillus for further research. The goal was to determine whether or not there was a new, undescribed species of Penicillus. Microscope slides, drawings, and measurements, as well as research, were required to complete this project. Algae was also pressed from a trip to Colombia so that further research might be done on it.
