PROGRAM
HIGHLIGHTS
Using data from the most recent four years, each year approximately 200 undergraduate students apply for participation in the Research Training Program. The majority of applicants are students just completing their Junior year. Most applicants are US citizens, although on average 27% of the applicant pool includes foreign students. Women dominate the pool with representation including, on average, 63%. Each year the target number of participants is 24 - 28 but funding levels can limit the number of positions available. Students selected to participate in the RTP are typically just completing their Junior year, although the group generally includes representatives from all academic levels. Typically about 66% of RTP participants are female and most are US citizens, but approximately16% of the positions are awarded to international students. 2007
