Beginning
with the first mailing in 1985, the Research
Training Program has annually produced and
distributed a natural history poster to notify
students of internship opportunities at the
NMNH.

Because
doubts remained concerning the future
of the RTP '06 session, no recruitment
poster was prepared or distributed.
As
the result of a catastrophic web server
crash on 9 February 2005 all web functions,
including application submission, remained
unavailable. A paper process was used,
in parallel with the new Academic Portal
system. This was the first year using
the Academic Portal on-line submission
and review system.
