Biology Club Tour
On
Friday, 24 February 2006, the RTP hosted the Millersville
University Biology Club, providing a behind-the-scenes
tour of our research and collections facilities
including Paleobiology, Birds and Botany.
Organized
by former RTP intern Chris Hardy, now Assistant
Professor & Keeper of the Herbarium (Millersville
University, Millersville Pennsylvania) we hosted
10 members from the Millersville University Biology
Club.
Bob
Purdy led the group through Paleobiology including
a visit to the paleo vertebrate prep lab. Marcy
Heacker presented birds from the "OH MY"
collection and talked about her work with the bird
strike program. Stan Yankowski welcomed the group
to the plant anatomy lab and Rusty Russell provided
an overview of the botanical collections in the
U.S. National Herbarium.
