The Second LSAMP Scholars Winter Workshop was held 7 - 12 January 2001 at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History. Eighteen LSAMP scholars and seventeen administrative representatives were selected to participate in a week of exploration through the natural history sciences.

LSAMP Winter Workshops are a convergence of diverse minds and backgrounds. Here, under the tutelage of a Smithsonian scientist, LSAMP scholars explore the wide ranges of natural history and the specialties of the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History.
